UDHR and article 19 HOW FREE IS OUR SPEECH!

Although not really a shopping trip Ecoboudoir and Pants to Poverty were part of an event that took place at the Purcell room at the South Bank Centre to mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with particular focus on article 19.
As well as the flamboyant Ben Ramsden and his team I spied Van from Bourgeois Boheme and Sindhu from Devidoll and was that Thea from Natural Born Sellers, OMG !(for those of you not in the know a competing sales person on an ITV programme to find the best UK salesperson which I was forced to watch by my little man in the hope of improving my selling technique ! Ugh). The Pants to Poverty short involved catwalk, models, gas masks and a splash of nudity. The Latter was championed by a member of the audience at the excellent debate chaired by human rights lawyer Helena Kennedy. Although I don't really think that our hero 'from grain to groin' was really too perturbed. Once you've bared flesh and all at Kings Cross to get into the Guinness book of records, not sure nudity is the issue! All in all a good evening with excellent speeches and debate...

Soho House already and it was only Monday!

Guest List, models and the most Perfect Tom Collins were the back drop for Amisha s spectacular launch!

Little moi was mingling amidst some of London’s green glitterati , and although I didn’t stay till the cautionary 3 am finish, I did manage to try or rather hold too all of the jewellery pieces on the display bar of course not the ones worn by the models who were cleverly staying numb. Just looking at the images you can see why, wearing a piece of Nicole de Carle gorgeous heraldic underwear could give some poor chatty chap heart palpitations.
I adore Nicole and she has promised she is in the process of designing something special for all her green aquatic fans !!! Come on Nicole when??????

The other models looked fab in Adaz and Simone Williams creations
Whilst just doing my thing and mingling with the IN crowd I volunteered a £5 note for a raffle ticket for the Gardens of Angel community project in Brazil ( Amisha had already told us to come prepared ,) so I was just being relaxed (I never win), tatatatata I WON and guess what, how perfect an Elegant Rebellion piece from Amisha's jewellery collection !
Having spent half the night looking at them and checking prices this was the ultimate, and completely unexpected.

I would say the perfect start to the week and nigh impossible to top!

POP UP Eco shop in Portabello

Gosh it was rather fun last Wednesday people were piling onto the street. There was some delicious food served by the Ellie at the Happy Kitchen and yes there were many little happy
greenies after trying her delicious fayre!

This amazing pop up shop run by some truly inspiring entrepreneurs Lisa and Sarah opened to a really swift trade. 40 labels ranging from Pants to Poverty, Just trade, BBoheme and Juicy Lucy. Of course you know what your total fashionista is like and I tried desperately to bags the changing room, which was just continuously taken.

In my hand to try on I had the GOODONE recently runner up at the refashion awards, IzzyLane skirt and jacket (with a rather interesting reduction, who doesnt need wool in this weather... please) and a lovely dress from still... Not to mention that I had managed already to become owner of the most gorgeous bobo boots at a little discount but that is another story...

Well the shop is at 303 Westbourne Grove and is open every day of the week till the 24th December what a shame, and the people running it are the designers themselves now you have to admit that is the best!!!!

The CDC - Launch

Have just spent a fab evening at the launch of the Cdc which showcases labels Miksa, Elena Garcia, Sew Last Season, Ria Roberts and House of Tammam.

We were treated to a fabulous fashion show with loads of wine and titilation bits all yummy and fairly traded. The evening started with a short intro by Elena and the aims of the collective which put the three Ps into play without all the bureaucracy, its fresh young and eternally optimistic love it!!!

How else do we change !! And now to the best bit the fashion.

..Miksa urban but a little tailored great finish with a grey and creamy pink palet and spring blue using natural dyes organics and fair trade in Peru and India she is showing her collection in Paris this year clever lady one to watch.

Elena whose collection - I defy anyone not to suit using bamboo and silk - can be worn in so many different ways so you become your own stylist I love this, a long time ago in a bleary past I fell in love with yogii yamamoto for the same idea. The pallet is cream and green and I can't wait for spring summer 2009 To wear it elena will be showing at estethica so will behearing a lot more from her.

Ria Roberts showed a colourful combo of shirts for gals and guys british retro Sort of nannys nursery her prints and colour combinations are just so so fab.

I think that asos has managed to get their hands on them well done guys!

Mad Summer heat and showers means great bargains in the eco world

Not sure if it is the Credit Crunch or just there are lots of designers out there that I covet but I found the Sales of particular interest. If you get a chance and have any money left check out Adili for Stewart and Brown, Equa for the Dresses and the Natural Collection for Fin and Lana the latter I don't think you can get it anywhere else and their basics are just seasonal.

Apart from shopping my favourite pastime of all ( really I only do it to keep you informed, that's my excuse anyhows). I have been doing quite a lot of fun things I had a lovely chat with Sindhu who is very stylish lady behind the website Devidoll and that must be THE creme de la creme of sites she has labels you can only get in the States, and guess what, she is on SALE. Sindhu did promise I could try the AOKI jeans for size apparently they are the best for size and fit. I will try whenever and keep you posted as I am really still on the hunt for something that will take the place of my beloved LEVIS could this be the one.

A couple of new labels I have found but have not tried Giggle Organic they are terribly affordable and Eairth which is heaven but I don't think you can get here. They both use natural dyes and organics. Also lucky me have got a meeting with Debbie Little designer extraordinaire whose dresses are in the V and A and Equa if I get a chance to do a little bit of a video I will figure out a way of posting.

Although this is a terribly short posting please put it down to the constant screaming of an African parrot and three mad rabbits that I am looking after for my little man while he is away taking wondrous pictures of the African wildlife and Sunsets. Although I love my wee friends the screaming and the distance of his house from my beloved smoggy ridden London is playing havoc to my sanity .....

Guys and new labels!

Its time for guys and this a helping hand for my long suffering little man that is not allowed even to look at cloths that are not ethical.
Being a rather classic chappy with favourite pieces which are brought out time and time again and are fraying bit by bit Elena Garcia has come as quite a find. A total recycle fanatic whose steely determination to do something about landfill even took me by surprise.
15 years in this country with a studio nestling in a rather stupendous part of Finsbury, Her shirts are a toast creative thinking. Take one man shirt frayed but loved choose from one of her 7 models wait for a couple of weeks and hey presto new customised man shirt that fits perfectly of course and is truly unique. Well if this an example of up cycling give me more love it. At a starting price of £75 unique cheap. Have a couple of male birthdays that span from 22 to 82 so going to give a try. Watch this space for the commentary.

As I have always said each designer has a special piece to die for and untouched world is no exception. When a couple of their pieces made there way to yours truly I discovered the beauty Of a good design in merino wool. Here it is they also have another piece that Works well not being a great fan of the wrap over dancer cardi thingy I must say I have now been completely converted to this one it fits and does the trick with lovely rushed. Bits at the sides hiding our lovely womanly bits...its not cheap but nothing beautiful ever is Check out the site. The images are not the hottest out but yours truly has tried and tested and they are special!!!! Hoping to get a 20% discount for friends and families well dont say I didnt try!
Did a bit of Ethical spotting at Liberty yesterday in the hope that with their 50% sale I might be able to grab a hot bargain. Huh ! I think the only thing that was Ethical and wasnt on sale were the Sharkah Chakra’s jeans but at least I saw the gold rivets... It probably says something about sales too!!!!
Will keep you posted on the bargains if any!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More and more labels....

Where oh where has the month gone to. I have seen so many great labels, that I am seriously trying to keep myself from being financially ruined.

I haven't forgotten about THTC either I was going to do a little mention because I think that their Isabella track pants (gotta be blue) are just the best for lounging, although I don't seem to be doing too much of that at the moment .. one can dream though !!!!! I love their little nifty pocket on the inside.. Yeah yeah boys I know they have always had them but I guess this lady only knows that rubber equals Ethletic sneakers and they are too big for THOSE pockets.

Which reminds me I bumped into the girl that does organic cotton yoga wear at the London Aware 08 show at the Barbican I had met her at the One Green Earth event at Xmas but at that time I really wasn't thinking of embarking on to THE MADONA BODY FIXATION. Since then I have been trying with all my might to remember her name and hey presto there she was its Organickers.com and her name is JO and her camisole tops and pants are made for some serious action at the GYM.

Zuzu Carter also let me have a little sneak PEEK at the labels she is working with Makepiece (which I personally love and you can get at Equa) and two German labels Lanius and Lana. The latter is a real cool find because they do some really cutesie kiddy wear that FINALLY goes up to 12 years of age. Also for all you luscious lovelies out there the collection goes up to a size 22 hurrah !!!!. A word of warning though do not get put off by the website its a weenie bit unimaginative pour yours truly whereas the collection is seriously NOT. The natural collection have some pieces on their website and I am hoping ZUZU gets it into more places so we can all go try and buy, keep you posted.

Also the sweet David at Bamboo clothing has set up a special code, called: lupe, this code is entered in the promotional code box when people check out and it will give an automatic 20% discount on the order. I am trying to figure out a way of creating a new email so I can buy some pieces without him knowing its me. I love the cami combo in white..

And guys with that final sad confession from this one shopaholic I bow out for this month.

Stewart Brown, Fin, and Delforte jeans

I am lagging so behind its not true I have been all over tried everything on and still not managed to get it down on paper. So I am determined to do a round up today of almost everything I have seen and where to get it.. As well as fit and sizing. First of all to the jeans as they were the most painful episode...The ones I loved couldn't fit into but getting myself into a pair of size 27 DELFORTE straights with a minimum of elastane unfortunately did not work... I kept thinkingof Cinderella and the ugly sister episode. But I have to say they are gorgeous and you can get them in a normal size in Badgers in Brighton and Equa in London. IF you have the Levi (dare I mention them) shape then these are the ones for you!!!

On to Stewart and Brown I defy anyone who has tried on Stewart and Brown basics in organic cotton not to wear them to a pulp since I got mine I have manically been drip drying them over night in order to wear again the next day. The weave is sooo thin and smooth its like wearing a gorgeous silky slither my top has lovely long sleeves and has a long tunic like bottom. You can get them from Adili and Devidoll on line(although I think at the moment they only have the tank version) and Equa. The Layering potential is amazing and for some reason they don`t stick.... The sizing is pretty standard a small is 10 to 10 and a half ish.

Fin is a label from Oslo and are organic fairtrade and carbon neutral they also happen to have the most gorgeous trench coats out classic cut but with a twist. IF anything is going to give one the french tailored look this is it.
Tomorrow will give you peek at the THTC new collection and Bailey clothing... ideal for the school run or the office uniform...

Exciting mini private preview from Amoosi Summer

Well have I mentioned how much I love the Amoosi collection and the girls Jess and Nina and did I think they would be able to come up with something as cool as their winter Jacket, of which I am a proud owner. Which I adore because lets face it at mon age its just thrilling to get stopped and asked who I am wearing and where I have got it from. To know that someone is looking for one trillionth of a minute, I think it gives that kind of boost that only vitamin injections must give!!! And no, I have not tried them yet but I have heard ....

Anyhow back to the collection lucky me had the fortune to have a sneak and golly they have come up with yet another winner the summer shirt perfect over jeans, trousers, skirts and shorts. I am not sure how they do it but they have also come up with this great halter neck top which actually creates a kind of cascade of delicate folds over your waist and then finishes tailored on the sides sexy or what.

Plus it could hide a couple of naughty blow out meals if you're that way inclined anyhow these girls are terribly knowledgeable about the female form. They were off to do their summer fashion shoot so I reckon it wont be long before its up on their site

Need to let you know about another couple of fab labels have had peaks on in this last week

as well as a another little jaunt er down to Brighton, cant get away from the place, to see Stewart and Brown and Delforte jeans..... and try them on of course... keep you posted.

Lulie B great shop in Brighton with fab service

Now I know its been a long time but I cant really leave the Brighton episode without talking
about Lulie B. Just recently opened last year and its a haven for us ethically minded shoppers.

Serrafontaine jeans that I have been dying to try were tried you only can find them in Harvey and Nichols I believe but I have to say worth every little penny.. They were about £186 and made me look like some rather swanky long legged gal!

Such a sweet assistant too she explained the story behind every label as well as introducing me to Matt and Nat wow what a label and the material comes from recycled plastic water bottles and vegan leather and they look and feel fabulous..I touched and nearly bought. But I have my gorgeous Tela Bags so until they die no way and I reckon they will live as they are made out of recycled banners and you can imagine how much wind and beating they take. So I guess if some glorious soul is listening I WANT ONE.

You think I didn't fall into temptation... I have to say having tried the whole shop in my size how could I not. I went for a gorgeous Enamore dress in navy blue hemp and tencel mix with a great vintage collar.

But it was on sale of course... So did I feel naughty not one bit........

One of my gorgeous clients had just landed herself a great job in Coronation street and guess who gets to dress her MOI............................... So I have been rushing around half of London sourcing gorgeous goodies for her to wear. She only wears Ethical clothing so its heaven for me my own Barbie doll. So I am taking all these gorgeous pics to show you all the lovely labels I have seen....

Day trip to Brighton last week-end

Last Saturday decided that I would go and have a wonder and check all the lovely suppliers of Eco- fashion at the Howies Sample Sale which was taking place at Fabrica. What a horrible grey day but as I love a spot of shopping even that couldn't put the dampener on the event.

I was hoping to get a lovely working shirt as a surprise for my boyfriend and maybe a cool dress that I could wear for work smartish but casual. Welllllllll.

Unfortunately the boyfriend did not get anything everything in the Howie sale was rathercasual and far too jeany for his line of work. Prices were good though if you fancied either a jacket or trousers but really I was not in search of either.

I did bump into a rather interesting label called Bam bambooclothing that had some gorgeous rather plain long tshirts in a chocolaty brown colour not really that cheap at £20 a shot but the texture was divine almost like cashmere. Funnily enough I always thought that Bamboo fabric was rather non ethical as it seems to me that the pandas who only eat this are on the endangered species list and cant get enough to keep going. But I was assured it came from a sustainable source and that it grew almost to full height in twenty four hours. Well unfortunately the top was so yummy and I thought surely they wouldn't be here if that weren't true so kind of you can guess the rest.

People tree were there too and they some rather lovely dresses but unfortunately rather too floaty for my look and luckily the sizing was all wrong so I moved on to Terra Plana.

Actually I have always rather fancied there recycled shoes they are a bit clumpy but its a great idea. Silly because I have never tried them and they are just around the corner in Covent Garden. Anyhow great opportunity here. I opted for their Vivo barefoot because apparently you can run in them too very attractive prospect too for my forthcoming Spanish trip as I am planning to keep up running and the thought of being weighed down by my trainers in my minuscule suitcase is unbearable. The colours are great a nice black pair one problem they don't do half sizes so one was to small and the other too large...and they had some hefty bargains on drat!!!!!

Okayyy so feeling a little bit bemused by my rather poor shopping bargains, I decided to venture into Brighton and check out a couple of new boutiques had wanted to see........
